Firstly I am siiiiick. That's five i's for all you Full House fans out there.
I mean it is TUESDAY after all, what else can we expect from the worst day of the week anyways? I missed my Jillian work out last night. And I am actually sad about it which is a good thing right? But it was her or my lungs, and since my babies need a mama I had to lay in bed instead.
Today I have really exciting plans besides being sick. And plenty to talk about. I am not sure how you hit the blogging jackpot with this lady right here but read to the end, it is worth it- PROMISE. A real responsible blogger would break up this jabber into pieces, scheduling out posts etc. But we all know Kim & word vomit go together like ranch & ketchup. No? Maybe you like spaghetti and meatball? You more comfortable with that analogy? If you don't know THAT is from THIS MOVIE we might not be able to be friends anymore, maybe.
I digress. So tomorrow. Big plans people. The cable guy is coming. Apparently J had enough of me whining about our connection so they are moving it to a better place so I can stop getting WEBPAGE NOT DISPLAYED all the days. I also get to randomly show up at The Boys classroom so I can spank that booty every time he gets out of his seat, or dances during math or sings during spelling, you know, the usual. And before you get all no spanking on me, I have already attempted every other punishment known to man. The kid hasn't had a green day since before Christmas break. I am also going to mix the doctor in there for some jolly good fun. The Tween has a basketball game. I am sure I will round off the evening with some wonderful math drama with The Teen too. Tonight's was classic. I might have taped it for you to make a montage of my week of banging my head on the wall trying to get The Teen to understand she does have to do her Math and she does have to understand it. I am mean and rude, I know. I was reminded tonight :-)
All jokes aside I do not know if I have ever mentioned that I used to be involved in a really awesome church when I lived in Texas. And by really involved, I mean basically lived there of course. Hope Fellowship is in Frisco T and if you live anywhere near there seriously, you gotta go. If not you can always listen online. They are just great people. The lead pastor and all of his staff care about people. They aren't about money and things a gigantic crosses that light up for miles. Just about loving people. Anyways he is doing a series on Choosing to Cheat right now. The basic preface is what can you cheat in life that does not matter for something that does. This weeks was about cheating selfish ambition for the greater good of your family.
Here are my notes and a few of John's words from the sermon:
Most important people in your life:
Jeremy
Courtney
Andrew
Hope
What do you want for your family and what are you willing to
cheat to get it?
John 10:10 The thief’s purpose is to steal kill and destroy
but my purpose is to give him a satisfying life.
What do you define as a rich and satisfying life?
Spiritual transformation- encouraging our kids and each other to just be better people, plain and simple. Love God and Love People.
Healthy relationships - make a no cell phone/internet/TV time to be able to eat with your family, or play a board game.
Success in life
How do you get closer to that? Cheat Selfish Ambition
Not to say hobby's, dinner with the girls, going to the gym is bad, it is not at all. It can actually make the goals you have for your family easier to achieve, just do not abuse it.
The people on your paper deserve more. It can not just be in
your heart, it has to also be in your actions.
I’ve not learned these lessons, I am managing the tension.
This definitely hit home for me. We used to have one night a week that was family night and it slowly drifted to twice a month and now once a month. Sure we spend time together, doing HOMEWORK. But prioritizing our family needs to come back, big time.
Another reason this church is awesome:
Then not two days later this happened:
Lastly, because I have not spoken enough. Have I ever introduced you to my girl Bonnie? She is pretty fabulous. I won Dateviations recently and it has given me the winning giveaway bug. So when she asked if I would give away something I totally said yes. Because I never say no. That's what she said. ANYWAYS BONNIE!!! IS!!! AWESOME!!! She teaches English to high schoolers and is even starting up a book club (which you know queen bandwagon is ALL OVER!) and she just cracks me up. You should go say Hi to her, especially since she offered to share her theraflu with me. The giveaway is almost all gift cards and is just open until Friday!
So I would normally post questions here but I have been ALL OVER THE PLACE. So its a free for all! Tell me whatever you want!
